20 Minute Loop was a San Francisco-based band founded in 1996 by Greg Giles. Their debut EP, With God on the Dog Team Trail, was released in 1997 through Trystero Records. The group's first full-length album, 20 Minute Loop (1999), received positive critical reception via Fortune Records. They gained further recognition with albums such as Decline of Day (2001) and Yawn + House = Explosion (2005). In 2008, the band released the album Famous People Marry Famous People. In November 2009, the band disbanded due to real-life contingencies but reformed for Noise Pop 2012. They continued releasing music, including the album Songs Praising the Mutant Race in 2017. In February 2023, they performed at the Great American Music Hall.
