Yahira Arazeli Garcia, known professionally as Flakiss, is an American rapper and actress born in Sacramento, California. She adopted her stage name from a nickname given by her mother, which translates to "skinny girl" in Spanish. Flakiss began her music career focusing on Latin hip-hop, or "urban regional," and has recorded three hip hop albums for Univision Records. Her influences included Tupac Shakur and Missy Elliott. In 2006, she requested to be released from her contract and took a hiatus from music in 2008 to focus on other aspects of her life. Flakiss made her acting debut in the film End of Watch, directed by David Ayer, who was a fan of her music. She played the character La La in the movie.
