Gary Stites, born Gary Stites on July 23, 1940 in the United States of America, is an American singer known for his contributions to pop rock. His music career began with the release of several singles in 1959, including "A Girl Like You," which marked his initial breakthrough. That year, Gary Stites achieved notable success with the single "Lonely for You," which peaked at number 24 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song bore a significant sonic resemblance to Conway Twitty's "It's Only Make Believe." His follow-up single "Starry Eyed" reached Number 77 on the same chart. Gary Stites' early success continued with the single "Young Love / Little Tear," released in 1960. His only full-length album, Lonely For You, came out on Carlton Records that year. The album included his hit single "Lonely for You" and other tracks that showcased his vocal abilities.
