Christopher Tignor, born March 15, 1976 in Morristown, New Jersey, is an American experimental composer and violinist. He received a Bachelor of Arts in creative writing from Bard College in 1998. Tignor's music career began with the formation of post-rock band Slow Six in 2000. His solo work as an electro-acoustic violinist includes albums such as Core Memory Unwound (2009), Thunder Lay Down in the Heart (2014), and Along a Vanishing Plane (2016). He earned a Master of Science in computer science from New York University in 2003 and a PhD in music composition from Princeton in 2018. Tignor has performed and lectured at various venues worldwide, including the SOU Festival in Tbilisi, Georgia, and the Victor Hugo theater in Havana, Cuba.
