Lucie Idlout, born Tatanniq Lucie d'Argencourt in 1968 in Nunavut, Canada, is a Canadian singer, songwriter, and actress. After releasing several EPs, Idlout launched her debut album E5-770: My Mother's Name in 2004. The title honors her mother and addresses the Canadian government's policy of identifying Inuit people by disk numbers rather than names. Her song "Birthday" from this album was featured in Dan Birman's crime film Delito Spree. Idlout gained significant media attention when she opened for The White Stripes in Iqaluit in 2007. Her second album, Swagger, released in February 2009, includes the track "Lovely Irene", which inspired a campaign against domestic violence.
