Jose Luis Temes

José Luis Temes, born on May 22, 1956, in Madrid, Spain, is an orchestra conductor. He graduated from the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid in 1976 and began his career directing the Grupo de Percusión de Madrid from 1976 to 1981. In 1983, he founded the Grupo Círculo, focusing on new Spanish music until its dissolution in 2001. Temes has directed major orchestras, including the Filarmónica de Londres and Sinfónica della RAI (Roma), and performed over a thousand concerts worldwide. He has premiered more than 360 Spanish works and released 114 albums featuring Spanish music from the last three centuries. Notable projects include El Tratado de Solfeo Contemporáneo. Temes received the Premio Nacional de Música in 2008 for his extensive work as a conductor.
