Maria Ewa Żak, known professionally as Mery Spolsky, was born on November 14, 1993, in Warsaw, Poland. She began her musical journey at 14 by learning to play the guitar and performed with bands Makijaż and Różowe Okulary. Her breakthrough came in 2015 when she won an honorable mention for her performance at the 36th Review of Actor Songs in Wrocław. Spolsky released her debut single "Miło było pana poznać" in June 2017, followed by her first studio album Miło było pana poznać in September. The album earned two Fryderyk Award nominations for "phonographic debut of the year" and "electronica album of the year." She continued to release albums including Dekalog Spolsky (2019) and Erotik Era (2023). In 2021, she published her debut novel Jestem Marysia i chyba się zabiję dzisiaj.
