Uphill Battle was an American metalcore band formed in Santa Barbara, California and consisted of Adi Tejada on guitars and lead vocals, Danny Walker on drums, Jeff Capra on guitars, and Casey Shropshire on bass and vocals. Their sound combined elements of grindcore and hardcore, emphasized by hectic riffing and percussive assault. Uphill Battle gained recognition with their self-titled debut album released on Relapse Records in 2002. Following this release, they embarked on the 2003 Relapse Records Contamination Tour alongside Mastodon, Cephalic Carnage, and Dysrhythmia. Their second full-length album, Wreck of Nerves, was released in 2004. In 2005, Uphill Battle disbanded, leaving behind a collection of their pre-Relapse rarities titled Blurred, released in 2006.
