Nachtgeschrei was a German medieval rock band from Frankfurt am Main formed in spring 2006. The group consisted of members from previous bands Black Sheep and Paimon. Nachtgeschrei released their first promo CD in 2006, followed by another in 2007, which they distributed at concerts and through their website. In May 2008, the band signed with Massacre Records and released their debut album Hoffnungsschimmer. The album received positive reviews from publications such as Rock Hard and Metal Hammer. Nachtgeschrei continued to release albums including Am Rande der Welt (2009), featuring artwork by Travis Smith, and Ardeo (2010). They performed at various festivals like the Wave-Gotik-Treffen and supported bands such as Subway to Sally. In August 2015, Nachtgeschrei released their album Staub und Schatten, followed by Tiefenrausch in March 2017. The band announced their disbandment in June 2017 and held their final concerts in the spring of 2018.
