Age of Nemesis, originally known as Nemesis, was formed in 1997 in Hungary by Zoltán Fábián, György Nagy, Ákos Thorday, György Pethe, and Mihály Szerecsen. In 1998, they released their debut self-titled album Nemesis, which was well-received by critics and the public. In 1999, the band secured a record deal with GU^LA Records Ltd., leading to the release of their second album Abraxas (1999). The band also gained prominence as headliners at the Progfest tour that same year. After disbanding briefly in December 2000, Zoltán Fábián and György Nagy reformed the group with new members Csaba Berczelly, László Nagy, and Zoltán Kiss. They re-recorded their first two albums in English and released both Terra Incognita and Eden? in 2002. They changed their name to Age of Nemesis in 2005 and signed with Magna Carta Records, releasing Psychogeist in 2006 and the English version of Terra Incognita in 2007.
