Sprites, an American new wave and indie pop band, was formed in 2002 in Maryland, United States by Jason Korzen following the breakup of his previous band, Barcelona. The initial lineup included Korzen and his wife Amy Korzen, with various contributors joining over time. Sprites released their debut album Starling, Spiders, Tiger and Sprites in 2003 on March Records, which featured a cover of "It Changes" from the film Snoopy Come Home. The band toured extensively, including a United States tour with The Lucksmiths. In 2004, they released the EP Bionic Hands through Lejos Discos and their second full-length album, Modern Gameplay, followed in 2006 via Darla Records. Sprites' music has also been featured on various compilations, including Little Darla Has a Treat for You Vol. 19 (2002) and Vol. 24 (2006).
