Roger Goode, a South African DJ born in Johannesburg, South Africa, on 22 October 1981, began his musical journey in the early 2000s, gaining local attention with the single "In The Beginning", which entered 5FM’s Top 40. The success of this track led to a contract with SheerDance, under which he released his debut album Coming Up For Air in 2001. The track was later remixed by Ferry Corsten and reached number 33 on the UK Singles Chart in 2002, earning airplay on MTV’s Music Video Chart and promotion by Pete Tong’s London Records. In 2002, Goode released the "In The Beginning" single, and in 2008 followed with the DJ mix Pandoras Box. Throughout the decade he curated the SL Magazine Compilation of South African dance music and hosted the 5FM afternoon drivetime show from 2014, later joining Goodhope FM’s breakfast program in April 2025. His work remains a staple of South African electronic music.
