Libby Johnson is an American folk and Americana singer-songwriter born on an army base in Germany. She began playing piano at age seven and singing with her sister, Carrie Johnson, while living in Kenya. After attending the Berklee College of Music, the sisters moved to New York in 1983. In 1992, Johnson co-founded the indie folk band 22 Brides, releasing the self-published CD Selling Fruit in Cairo in 1993. Following performances at CBGB’s Gallery, the duo signed to Zero Hour Records and released the album 22 Brides on June 22, 1994. The band expanded to a quartet for the 1995 album Beaker before returning to a trio formation for Demolition Day in 1998. Johnson released her debut solo album Annabella on September 5, 2006, which included four tracks featured in the film Trust the Man. She also composed the end-credits song “Indelible Mark” for the production. Johnson released her second solo album, Perfect View, on June 1, 2010.
