Robert Cody, known professionally as Robert "Tree" Cody, was born on April 20, 1951, in the United States of America. He was a flutist and an enrolled member of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community. Cody released his debut album Dreams from the Grandfather in 1993. He went on to release several albums, including Traditional Flute Music Of The Native American (1988), Young Eagle's Flight (1991), and Siyotanka: Courting Flute of the Northern Plains (2002). Cody's work included performances on tracks from The Rippingtons' 1999 album Topaz, and he was featured as a flautist in the PBS series Reading Rainbow. He received multiple awards at the Native American Music Awards, including a Lifetime Achievement Award in November 2022. Cody also earned a Grammy nomination for Best Native American Music Album for Heart of the Wind (2006).
