Morteza Barjesteh, known professionally as Morteza, was born on August 31, 1951, in Tehran, Iran. He began his career at 16 by singing in Iranian movies and won a national television singing festival in 1969 with "Eshgh-e Zood-gozar." Before the Islamic Revolution of Iran, he released approximately 180 songs and contributed to about 50 films. Following his relocation to Los Angeles in 1981, he continued his musical activities, releasing albums such as Dayeh Dayeh and Anar Anar. Notable works include the political song "Darugheh." He founded the Iran Culture House in 2002 and performed songs related to the Iranian Green Movement.
