Boatism is a singer/songwriter from Amsterdam with Ghanaian roots. Currently he is busy making music and he can certainly not be classified in only one genre. Boatism was born in 1991 and managed to develop his love and passion for music at a young age. Apart from the fact that he grew up in a multicultural environment where he also managed to get his inspiration from, he was mainly influenced by his two brothers who were always playing music at home, consisting of a broad selection. Over the years, artists such as Sade, Kofi, Freddie McGregor and Shabba Ranks have been able to inspire him. His music is influenced by various styles such as Afrobeats, R&B, Reggae, Highlife and Hiplife.
However, Boatism has not been consciously involved in creating music from an early age. He managed to do this at a later age by basically spreading his wings. In 2016 he started as a DJ and 1 year later he started the collective KingdomSound, together with producers and good friends BVNDØ and Euge Louisa. With this collective he has managed to show his DJ skills in the coolest places in Amsterdam and the surrounding area.
