Jodi Proznick, born on October 23, 1975, in Surrey, Canada, is a jazz bassist, composer, educator, and producer. She switched to bass at age 13 under her father's guidance and studied music at McGill University from 1994 to 1998. Proznick released her debut album Foundations in 2006, which was nominated for a Juno Award in 2009. She won the Galaxie Rising Star Award at the Vancouver International Jazz Festival in 2004 and has been recognized as the National Jazz Awards' Bassist of the Year in both 2008 and 2009. Proznick's subsequent albums include Sun Songs (2017) and collaborations with groups like Triology and Ostara Project, which was nominated for a Juno Award in 2023.
