Inkuyo, a world music group from Bolivia, was formed in 1988 by Gonzalo Vargas, a musician from the remote village of Tapajkari. Prior to founding Inkuyo, Vargas collaborated with another Andean music group, Sukay. The band's music is deeply rooted in the traditional sounds of the Andes, often blending these elements with new age and ambient music. Their debut album, Music of the Andes, was released in 1988, followed by Land of the Incas in 1990. Inkuyo gained international recognition when their song "Wiphala" was featured in Ron Fricke's film Baraka. The group continued to release albums, including The Double Headed Serpent in 1993 and Pachakuti: The Overturing of Space-Time in 2007. Throughout their career, Inkuyo collaborated with various artists such as Daniel Zamalloa, José Luis Reynolds, Enrique Coria, Salomón Pérez, and Fernando de Sanjinez.
