Brooklyn-based SAVAK will release ‘SQUAWK!’, their 7th record, on May 30th, 2025 which also happens to be the 10-year anniversary of their first show. The core trio includes Sohrab Habibion (Obits, Edsel) and Michael Jaworski (The Cops) – who sing, play guitar, and split the songwriting – along with Matt Schulz (Holy Fuck, Enon) on drums. Bassist Matt Hunter (Silver Jews, New Radiant Storm King) joins for live performances.

‘SQUAWK!’ shows a band comfortable in its stride, making music for the electric guitar, influenced by recordings from the ‘60s to the present. But on this new LP, SAVAK pushes boundaries, expanding their time-tested, melodic, post-punk formula with cinematic Morricone vibes, Velvets-esque grooves and a bit of Ronson glam.
