Andy Vivian Palacio, born on December 2, 1960, in Barranco, British Honduras, was a Belizean punta musician, singer, and composer. He played the guitar and was a member of the Original Turtle Shell Band and the Garifuna Collective. He performed at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival in 1983. His discography includes the albums Nabi (1990), Keimoun (1995), Til Da Mawnin (1997), and Wátina (2007). He received the Best New Artist award at the Caribbean Music Awards in 1991, the WOMEX Award in 2007, and the BBC3 Awards for World Music in 2008. He passed away on January 19, 2008, in Belize City, Belize, from a stroke, a heart attack, and respiratory failure.
