Henry Spencer, born on June 12, 1990, in Stourhead, Wiltshire, United Kingdom, is a British jazz musician, trumpeter, and composer. He began playing piano at a young age and switched to the trumpet at the age of ten. In 2006, he received a DfES scholarship to attend Wells Cathedral School and later secured a place in the Guildhall School of Music and Drama's four-year Bachelor Jazz program after moving to London in 2008. Spencer began his professional career as a freelance jazz musician, performing with various ensembles including the National Youth Jazz Orchestra. He gained early recognition performing at the Marlborough Jazz Festival in 2011 with his quintet, Henry Spencer & Juncture, where they won the Best Newcomer Award. In 2014, he received the Emerging Excellence Award from Help Musicians UK. His debut album, The Reasons Don’t Change, was released on Whirlwind Recordings in 2017.
