Pat Kelly, born Horatious Adolphus "Pat" Kelly on August 6, 1944 in Kingston, Jamaica, was a singer. He began his music career as a solo artist for producer Bunny Lee after studying electronics in Springfield, Massachusetts. In 1967, Pat Kelly joined the vocal group The Techniques, replacing Slim Smith and achieving success with hits like "You Don't Care" and "Queen Majesty". His falsetto voice contributed to the band's popularity during the rocksteady era. Pat Kelly's solo career included notable releases such as "How Long Will It Take", which was the biggest-selling Jamaican single of 1969. He collaborated with various producers including Duke Reid and Phil Pratt, and had hits like "Soulful Love" and "Talk About Love". Pat Kelly died on July 16, 2019, aged 74, from complications of kidney disease.
