The Hassles were an American psychedelic rock ensemble from Long Island, New York, active between 1964 and 1969. The group was established by Richard McKenna, Jon Small, John Dizek, and Harry Weber. In 1966, the musicians Billy Joel and Howie Arthur Blauvelt joined the ensemble. Their recording career began with the debut studio recording The Hassles (1967) released through United Artists Records. The recording featured the track "You've Got Me Hummin'" (1967), which reached number 112 on the Billboard charts. Their discography includes the studio recording Hour of the Wolf (1969), which featured original recordings written by Joel. The ensemble became inactive in 1969. Following the split, Joel subsequently established a solo career, while Small achieved professional recognition as a video producer and Blauvelt co-founded the ensemble Ram Jam. Dizek died on 27 June 2017.
