The Montesas, a rock band from Kassel, Germany, formed in 1998 under the leadership of Marcel Bontempi. The group became known for their live performances across Europe and their distinctive retro style inspired by the early 1960s. In 2000, the band released the single "Voulez-vous coucher avec moi?" under Larsen Records, followed by their first album Hipsville Teen Party in 2001. This album received positive reviews from publications like Rolling Stone and Ox. Subsequent releases included Midnight Beat (2003), which featured the track "Igor’s Party", and Rockers… Shakers! (2005). Their fourth studio album, Wrong Side of Town, was released in 2010 and included a video clip for "Do the Slide".
