Abdelhadi Belkhayat, born in 1940 in Fès, Morocco, was a Moroccan singer who moved to Casablanca at an early age. His breakthrough came through an audition at Radio Marocaine, launching his career alongside figures like Mohamed Fouiteh and Maâti Belkacem. Belkhayat's warm voice quickly gained recognition. He enrolled in the Higher Conservatory of Arabic Music in Cairo from 1965 to 1967, gaining popularity in Egypt. In 1973, he performed at the Olympia in Paris, drawing a large crowd. Belkhayat collaborated with authors like Ahmed Taïeb El Alj and composers such as Abdeslam Amer, resulting in classics like "El Qamar el ahmar" and "Aouni nensak". In the late 1980s, he devoted himself to Quranic recitation and served as an imam in Casablanca. He passed away on January 30, 2026.
