Intakto, a Canadian group originating from Quebec, was formed in July 1995. The band consisted of Alejandro Venegas, a Chilean-born singer-guitarist, and Simon Claude, a classical violinist from Quebec. Their debut album, Intakto (2002), marked their breakthrough, winning the Prix Félix for Best World Music Album in 2003 and receiving a Juno nomination the same year. The album sold over 25,000 copies and earned Intakto an ADISQ nomination for Best World Music Album. Following this success, they released Todavia in April 2007 under Justin Time/Fusion 3, further solidifying their presence on local and international music scenes. Over more than 14 years, Intakto performed over 400 concerts across Canada, the United States, France, and Japan, including notable appearances at the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal and the Festival d'été de Québec. In 2016, they released their third album, Lazos.
