Negative Format, an American electronic body music and trance band from Florida, was formed in 1996 by Alex Matheu. The group's early releases, such as The Ritual of the Machine (1996) and Pathologic Syndrome (1997), exhibited a more electronic body music and dance-industrial sound. Their second album, Result Of A New Culture (1998), marked a shift towards trance music, influencing subsequent releases. In 2000, Negative Format toured the US with Flesh Field, God Module, and Cenobita. The band's notable works include Gradients (2008) and "Axiom" (2012). Negative Format's discography includes collaborations and remixes for bands such as Informatik, Aïboforcen, Psyche, Bruderschaft, Assemblage 23, and others.
