Blackest Dawn, a death metal band, was formed in 2002 in Rogätz, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany, by vocalist Jörg Jüdes, drummer André Jüdes, singer Frank Mühlenberg, and guitarist Jörg Kosinski under the name Final Punch before adopting the current name in 2005. The band released its debut EP Artefacts in 2006, followed by the album Fear of the Apocalypse in 2008 on All Life Ends Records. Subsequent albums Soulgrinder (2011), We are Legions (2013), and The New Guard (2018) expanded their catalog, with singles such as "Curse of the Soulgrinder" (2011) and "We Are Legions" (2013) receiving music video treatment. The group toured extensively, supporting Betzefer on the Rampage tour and performing on the main stage at With Full Force 2014.
