Described as one of the brightest young talents currently performing in the world of opera, Londoner Louise Alder is a rising star of British classical music. She studied at the University of Edinburgh, mentored by Patricia MacMahon, before graduating with honours in 2013 and joining the Royal College of Music the same year as an inaugural Dame Kiri te Kanawa scholar.
Alder is a member of the renowned Frankfurt Opera ensemble, where her roles have included include Gretel and Lisa in 'La Sonnambula', Silandra in 'L'Orontea' and Musetta in 'La Bohème'. Engagements elsewhere have included Lucia in 'The Rape of Lucretia' for the Glyndebourne Festival, Ilia in 'Idomeneo' for the Garsington Opera and Clomiri in 'Imeneo' for the London Handel Festival. She has appeared at classical music festivals throughout Europe and her talents are in demand with opera companies throughout the world. Her career highlights include concert appearances with the LSO and Sir Mark Elder, the Academy of Ancient Music with Richard Egarr, the Hallé Orchestra with Cristian Macelaru and the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra at the BBC Proms with Ilan Volkov.
