The Doodletown Pipers was an American vocal group founded in 1966 by Ward Ellis, George Wilkins, Bernie Brillstein, and Jerry Weintraub. They debuted on The Red Skelton Show with 30 members. Their first album, Here Come The Doodletown Pipers, was released the same year. In 1966, they opened for George Burns at The Nugget in Sparks, Nevada, with a reduced lineup of 20 members. Notable early singles include "Get A Horse" and "A Little Ray Of Sunshine". The group collaborated with prominent artists such as Count Basie, Perry Como, and Bing Crosby, and made numerous television appearances, including six times on The Ed Sullivan Show.
