Kevin John Bowyer, born January 9, 1961 in Southend-on-Sea, England, is an English organist known for his extensive recording and recital career. He began playing the piano accordion and organ as a child and studied at the Royal Academy of Music from 1979 to 1982 under Christopher Bowers-Broadbent and Douglas Hawkridge. His breakthrough came with his debut recital at the Royal Festival Hall in 1984, which was followed by winning several international competitions including the Odense International Organ Competition and Dublin International Organ and Choral Festival. Throughout his career, Bowyer has released numerous recordings, notably all of Johann Sebastian Bach's organ music for the Nimbus label. He performed and broadcast worldwide, with a repertoire spanning from Renaissance to contemporary compositions. He was also notably the first to record Kaikhosru Sorabji’s First Organ Symphony in its entirety.
