Max von Mosch, born in 1980 in Starnberg, Germany, is a German jazz musician known for his work as a tenor and soprano saxophonist, bass clarinetist, and composer. He began playing piano at age eight and switched to saxophone three years later. As a teenager, he performed with various ensembles in the Munich music scene. In 1999, Mosch joined the Landes Jugendjazzorchester Bayern, touring internationally until 2001. From 2000 to 2006, he studied at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and later at the New England Conservatory in Boston from 2008 to 2010. In 1999, he founded the quartet max.bab with Benedikt Jahnel, Benny Schäfer, and Andi Haberl, which has released seven albums and won several awards, including the international Jazzwettbewerb in Ústí nad Labem in 2000 and the Biberacher Jazzpreis in 2001. Notable albums include Berlin Kaboom! (2013) and Black Perigord (2011).
