Alejandro Roman

Alejandro López Román (born March 24, 1971) was a Spanish composer and pianist from Madrid. Román studied composition at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid and received scholarships for jazz studies from the AIE between 1991 and 1995. Román's early works included Danza Espectral (1990) and Oniroplastia Eco (1992). In 1997, Román released Tres preludios nocturnos. He wrote the work Cuarteto de Cuerda in 2001. Román became a professor at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid in 2003. He composed over seventy pieces, including scores for thirty short films and ten feature films. He earned a doctorate from the UNED in 2014. Román received the Premio Cultura Viva in 2015. In 2018, Román received a gold medal at the Global Music Awards for the album Chamber Music.
