Bertha Louise "Lulu" Roman (née Hable), born May 6, 1946, in Pilot Point, Texas, was an American singer and comedian. She started working in Dallas-area nightclubs as "Lulu Roman, the World's Biggest Go-Go Dancer." Her breakthrough came when Buck Owens recommended her to the producers of Hee Haw, where she became a regular. Roman later converted to Christianity and transitioned into singing Southern Gospel music. She released over a dozen albums, including Now Let Me Sing (1974), Love Comin’ Down (1976), and One Day At A Time (1978). In 1985, Roman won a Dove Award for her contributions to gospel music. Her album Seven Times (2009) reached number 2 on the Cash Box chart in 2010. She passed away from heart failure on April 23, 2025, in Bellingham, Washington.
