+Plus, stylised as +Plus, was formed in December 2009 in Japan and signed to Pony Canyon. The group originally consisted of Moto Tomoya Nagai, Yoshikazu Kotani, and Takeshi Iwamoto, with Moto handling vocals and guitar, Yoshikazu providing vocals and bass, and Takeshi contributing vocals. Their first single, "日向に咲く夢", was released on 19 August 2009, followed by "雪道" on 16 December 2009, establishing the band’s presence in the J‑pop market. In March 2010 they released the single "声" and shortly thereafter debuted their first album, キャンバス, on 21 April 2010, which combined pop with elements of hip‑hop, reggae, and R&B. The band’s second studio album, はじまりの空, arrived on 23 May 2012, further solidifying their catalog. During this period, +Plus gained recognition for performing opening and ending themes for popular anime series such as Fairy Tail and Reborn!, which contributed to their chart success. Their single "Fiesta/エール" was released on 19 January 2011, marking a notable collaboration within the J‑pop scene. The group continued to tour domestically, promoting their releases through live performances and media appearances. While the band’s lineup changed over time, with Yoshikazu Kotani eventually departing, +Plus maintained a presence in the Japanese pop landscape through consistent releases and participation in anime soundtrack projects.
