Piano Meets Vibes, an acoustic duo consisting of pianist Jens Schliecker and percussionist Nils Rohwer, was founded in Germany in 1989. Known for their unique instrumentation featuring piano, vibraphone, and marimba, they blended elements of jazz, classical, folk, and minimal music. The duo gained early recognition by winning the first prize at the Jazz Podium Schleswig-Holstein in 1991 and 1994. They also received the first prize at the Classical Marimba League's composition competition in the USA in 2007 and the Norddeutscher Kulturpreis for their overall work in 2009. Their discography included albums such as Bilder einer Reise (2000) and Morning Clouds (2008). Piano Meets Vibes performed extensively across Europe, including notable festivals such as JazzBaltica and Hamburg Jazzfest.
