Pete Malinverni (born April 16, 1957) is an American jazz pianist, composer, and teacher from Niagara Falls, New York. Malinverni studied at the Crane School of Music and earned a master's degree from the Purchase Conservatory of Music under Anthony Newman and Sophia Rosoff. In 1981, Malinverni relocated to New York City, where he performed with Mel Lewis, Dennis Irwin, Leroy Williams, and Vernel Fournier. His discography for the Reservoir label featured the albums This Time (1997), A Very Good Year (1998), and The Spirit (2000). Subsequent releases included Heaven (2017), On the Town: Pete Malinverni Plays Leonard Bernstein (2022), and An American in London (2024). In 1993, Malinverni began serving as the musical director of the Devoe Street Baptist Church in Brooklyn. He taught at New York University and William Paterson University, and wrote for the magazine Record Review.
