La Triple Nelson, a Uruguayan rock group formed in January 1998 in Montevideo, initially consisted of Christian Cary (guitar and vocals), Fernando "Paco" Pintos (bass) and Rubén Ottonello (drums). The band's first performance was at Pueblo Narakan in Punta del Este. In 2000, they won the Probandas 2000 contest with their original composition "Billete". Their debut album Buceo was released independently in 2001. La Triple Nelson gained significant traction with their second album Seguir mejor, released in 2004, which included the hit single "Sin tu ángel" and nominated for Best Album at the Premios Graffiti in 2005. In 2010, they released Caos natural, which won the Premio Graffiti for Best Rock Album in 2011. Their 2020 album Mi Bien earned them the Premios Graffiti awards for Best Rock and Blues Album and Album of the Year.
