Mary McKloskey, known professionally as Mary Kiani, was born on March 27, 1965, in Glasgow, Scotland. She is a singer who began her career as a session musician and vocalist for various acts before gaining prominence with the dance music group The Time Frequency (TTF). Before TTF, she toured with Donny Osmond and contributed vocals to The Simpsons' Yellow Album. Kiani's breakthrough came in 1993 when "Real Love" by The Time Frequency, featuring her vocals, reached number 8 on the UK Singles Chart. Other notable singles with the group included "New Emotion" and "The Ultimate High" / "Power Zone". After leaving TTF, Kiani signed a solo recording contract with Mercury Records in 1997. Her debut album Long Hard Funky Dreams was released on January 27, 1997. Notable singles from this period include "When I Call Your Name" which went to number 18, the double A-side release "I Give It All To You" / "I Imagine" and a cover of "Let the Music Play" which charted at number 19. Her fourth single, "100%", reached number 23, while her cover of With or Without You peaked at number 46. Kiani continued to release albums including The Sydney Sessions on December 5, 2006 and Little Things Mean A Lot on July 20, 2012.
