Sly Boogy (born in San Bernardino, California) is an American hip-hop and West Coast rap artist. He began performing during his adolescence, forming the groups Backadashaq and Black Spooks before signing a solo contract with Bolo Entertainment in June 2002. His debut album, Judgement Day, was released on August 26, 2003. That same year, his song “Flow” was featured on the soundtrack for the video game True Crime: Streets of LA. In 2004, Boogy achieved recognition with the singles “California Remix” and “That'z My Name”, which received airplay on MTV2. He released the album The Fifth Letter in 2005, followed by The Fifth Letter Mixtape - Volume 1 (2006) and the EP The Beauty of Death (2008). In 2013, he collaborated on the mixtape Fully Loaded. Following a 2011 legal judgment and a period of house arrest, Boogy was incarcerated in 2014.
