Duane Jarvis, born on August 22, 1957 in Astoria, Oregon, was an American guitarist and singer-songwriter. He first gained attention as a member of the Portland band 2 Minutes 50, releasing the 7‑inch single "Call Me Back / Forget It" in 1981. Jarvis’s solo debut, D.J.'s Front Porch, appeared in 1994, followed by Far From Perfect in 1998 and Certified Miracle in 2000. He collaborated with artists such as Lucinda Williams, John Prine, and Frank Black, co‑writing "Still I Long For Your Kiss" for Williams’ 1998 Grammy‑winning album Car Wheels on a Gravel Road. In 2007, he was inducted into the Oregon Music Hall of Fame, and he died of colon cancer on April 1, 2009 at age 51.
