Shlomo Sarah Kahn, known professionally as SK Shlomo, is a British interdisciplinary performance artist, theatre maker, beatboxer, and live looping technologist. A classically trained percussionist and jazz drummer, they began making vocal rhythms as a child to practice their drumming skills and later developed a career in beatboxing. They first gained recognition in 2002 when they won the King of the Jam beatboxing tournament in London. In 2004, SK Shlomo collaborated with Björk on "Oceania," which was performed at the opening ceremony of the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens and nominated for a Grammy Award. They went on to tour extensively, including performances with Foreign Beggars and solo appearances on shows such as Later... with Jools Holland, and became Artist in Residence at the Southbank Centre in 2007. SK Shlomo has performed at major festivals including Glastonbury and the Montreux Jazz Festival, and is also known for founding the Vocal Orchestra and their work in education, theatre, and community projects.
