Ramon Pelegero Sanchis, known as Raimon, is a Spanish singer-songwriter born on December 2, 1940, in Xàtiva. He worked at a local radio station before studying history in Valencia, where he graduated in 1962. His first song, "Al vent", was inspired by his experiences as a delivery driver. In 1963, Raimon released his debut EP through Edigsa, which included "Al vent" and "La Pedra". He received first prize at the Festival de la Cançó Mediterrània the same year. In 1965, he performed at the Aliança del Poble Nou and introduced the term recital for his musical performances. His recordings included Cançons de la roda del temps (1966) and the live album Raimon al Palau (1967). His work became associated with the anti-Francoist movement. He received the Francis-Carco Prize and the 2014 Honor Award of Catalan Letters. In 2012, he celebrated his career anniversary with an exhibition in Barcelona.
