Jesse Kanda, known professionally as doon kanda, was born on June 23, 1987 in Kanagawa, Japan, and raised in Canada. He is a musical artist, animator, and visual artist based in London. He began sharing his work online at age 13 through platforms like deviantArt and mp3.com. His music career started with the release of the EP Heart in 2017. Kanda's subsequent releases include the EP Luna (2018) and albums Labyrinth (2019), Galatea (2022), and Celest (2023). He has collaborated with notable musicians such as Arca, FKA Twigs, and Björk. Kanda was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Recording Package in 2015 for his work on FKA Twigs' debut studio album LP1.
