Endgames, a Scottish New Wave band, was formed in Glasgow in 1980 by David Rudden on bass and vocals, and David Murdoch on keyboards. The group began performing at local clubs and colleges, gaining early traction as a support act for Simple Minds in December 1979. Their initial style featured cold-sounding synths and dark vocals, evident on compilations like Beyond the Groove and Live Letters. Endgames' first single "We Feel Good (Future's Looking Fine)", released in April 1982 under Mercury Records, marked a shift towards more commercial synthpop. The band's second single "First-Last-For Everything" charted at number 31 on the Billboard Disco/Dance Chart in late 1982. Endgames signed with Virgin Records for the UK and Europe, and MCA Records for North America, releasing their debut album Building Beauty in October 1983. The album included the hit single "Waiting For Another Chance", which peaked at number 21 in West Germany. Natural, their sophomore album, arrived in 1985. Despite commercial semi-success, Endgames disbanded later that year.
