Soul System

Soul System, an Italian group with members of Ghanaian descent born in Verona and Brescia, rose to prominence after winning the tenth season of The X Factor Italy. The band, formed through connections in local Ghanaian and evangelical communities, came together at member Joel Ainoo's recording studio. Initially rejected during the show’s selection process, they were later reinstated by judge Álvaro Soler after another band’s withdrawal. They won the competition with their track "She's Like a Star". In 2017, they performed Nino Ferrer’s "La pelle nera" at the Sanremo Music Festival alongside Sergio Sylvestre and released the single "Liquido", which sampled Liquido’s "Narcotic". Their debut album, Back to the Future, was launched on September 8, 2017.
