Lem Springsteen is an American songwriter and house music producer from the United States. Springsteen entered the music industry at age 16 after winning a talent contest at the Apollo Theatre. Manager Vaughan Mason secured a professional recording deal for Springsteen with the label Chrysalis Records UK. In 1993, Springsteen formed the house production duo Mood II Swing with John Ciafone. Mood II Swing provided remixes for artists including BT, King Britt, and Lucy Pearl. In 1997, Springsteen co-wrote and co-produced the original Ultra Naté composition “Free”, which reached Number 1 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Songs chart. Mood II Swing remixed approximately 300 tracks and produced 100 original songs before dissolving in 2008. In 1995, Springsteen contributed keyboards to the David Morales remix of the Janet Jackson track “Throb”. Springsteen established label Urban Lounge Music in 2010 to release house and solo music recordings.
