The Young Escape is a Christian electro-pop band from Riverside, California, where it was formed in 2016. Made up of siblings Ryan, McKenna, Kyrsten and Luke Johns, they quickly made a name for themselves with an energetic sound blending indie pop, electronic textures and polished production, driven by McKenna Johns' powerful vocals. In 2017, they signed to the Capitol Christian Music Group label and released their debut single "Good Life", which reached number one on the Billboard Hot AC/CHR chart in March 2018. Their second single, "Love Me Like You", achieves the same success in February 2019, making the group one of the few to place two consecutive first singles at the top of the chart. Their third single, "So Alive", enters the Top 5 in early 2020. Alongside these radio successes, The Young Escape tour actively in the United States, opening for Crowder in 2017 and 2018, and Jordan Feliz and Citizen Way in 2019. Their musical universe tackles themes such as anxiety, hope, youth and faith, with an accessible and unifying tone. In addition to several singles such as "Count on Me " (2021), "Drives " (2024) and "Older " (2025), the band releases the six-track EP Suddenly, summarizing the latest singles released, followed by debut album Matter to You.
