Percy Lee Strother, born on July 23, 1946, in Vicksburg, Mississippi, was an American electric blues guitarist and singer. After a tumultuous early life marked by the loss of his parents, Strother taught himself to play guitar and began performing in various locations before settling in Minneapolis, Minnesota. His debut album, A Good Woman is Hard to Find, released in 1992, earned him critical acclaim, with the title track winning Best Blues Song of 1992 at the Living Blues Awards. Strother's subsequent albums included The Highway Is My Home (1995) and It's My Time (1997). He toured extensively in Europe and performed at notable festivals such as the Burnley National Blues Festival and the Twin Cities Hot Summer Jazz Festival. Strother passed away on May 29, 2005, in Minneapolis, leaving behind a significant body of work that blended blues, rhythm and blues, and Memphis soul.
