Didier Marouani, born on July 14, 1953, in Monaco, is a French composer and musician known by the stage name Ecama. He began a career composing for French artists at age 17, collaborating with Étienne Roda-Gil to write songs for Nicoletta and Régine. In 1974, Marouani released an album arranged by Jean-Claude Vannier. Following this, he embarked on tours supporting Johnny Hallyday, Claude François, and Joe Dassin. In 1977, he founded the electronic music group Space with Roland Romanelli and Joe Hammer. A debut single, "Magic Fly" (1977), became a global hit, reaching Number 1 in multiple countries. Space sold over 10 million records worldwide across three albums. Albums include Deliverance (1977), Just Blue (1978), and Symphonic Space Dream (2001). In 1982, Marouani participated in another electronic venture, Paris-France-Transit. He composed the musical score for the science fiction television series Temps X in 1979, and the album Space Opera (1987) was relayed to the Soviet space station Mir.
